Covid 19: Information and special measure

Kentmere Farm Pods has only four camping pods in a rurally isolated position at a good distance from other dwellings.  Mickle Moss and White Howe pods are 5 metres apart, Harter and Froswick are 7 metres apart. Both pairs are 35 metres apart across a field.   Shower and toilets are within each pod so there are no shared washing facilities.  We provide soap dispensers within the shower /toilet for hand-washing as this is the most effective way of reducing contamination.

What we are doing to keep you safe:

We have taken careful precautions to minimise risk.  We have risk assessments in place for both our visitors and our staff.  We have blocked out a 24 hour period between each stay until the end of June to allow us to fully aerate the pods.  With the vaccination programme already having a positive effect we believe infections rates should continue to drop, but we will carry out a deep clean between bookings throughout the season, including thoroughly disinfecting hard surfaces using an anti-viral disinfectant, focusing particularly on pinch points such as handles, and switches. We require guests to strip beds to minimise risk to cleaners and place in bin bags that are knotted. We also ask visitors to place any rubbish in the bin bag provided and leave in the bins in the yard behind the hazel hurdles. Our sheets are laundered in line with government guidelines and we sterilise all tea towels and cleaning cloths.   We wear facemasks throughout the cleaning process.and gloves in the shower area.

In order to ensure that all our visitors and neighbours feel safe on the farm, we ask all our customers to observe the 2 metre social distancing rule towards anyone not in their party.  This is detailed in our Terms and Conditions.  Any change to this will be dependant on Government guidelines.  George Grange is the single point of contact should anyone develop symptoms and there is a strategy in place for dealing with this.

We provide information on the website on walks, bike rides, things to do locally and what is open.  We also have a list of cafes, restaurants and Chippy’s doing take-aways.  As there is no Wi-Fi available on site, we recommend that you take a look before you come. There are hot spots in Staveley where you can connect with WiFi.

We email you details of the key safe so there is no check in.  You can contact us by text or calling our land-line.

What we ask you to do:

Please can you strip your beds and put them in the black plastic bag provided in the box under the bed and securely knot.  This will help reduce risk for our cleaners.  Thank you.

If you have a dog, please keep it under control at all times and on a lead around other visitors.

If you would like a Fire pit and wood, please let us know and pay by Bank transfer before you come. We will send you our bank details. If it rains and you are unable to use it, we will refund you.

Please be aware that the Lakes is busier this year and we would ask you to be considerate to local farmers and residents at this time.  It can get very busy in certain areas in the Lakes and considerate parking and distancing allows people who live here to work safely.

We keep abreast of any developments and will respond to them proportionately as the situation develops.
